Ocean Kayak
is already well-known and respected for its lines of sit-on-top and fishing kayaks, and now, the Ferndale, Washington, manufacturer is aiming to repeat its success with its first-ever paddleboard, the Nalu.

With the ability to be paddled standing up (like Laird Hamilton crossing the English Channel), or sitting down, the Nalu offers versatility as well as performance.

The Nalu, one of the paddlesports industry's only rotomolded polyethylene paddleboards, is built to be durable, stable, and proficient in mid surf. It is also designed to be very user friendly, so it will be easy for beginners to feel comfortable. The Nalu will also come with a back rest you can use while sitting down, the first of its kind on the market.

At 11 feet long and 31 inches wide, the Nalu features molded-in fins for excellent tracking, two self-draining scuppers (there's that sit-on-top technology), a storage bungee, and comfortable grab handles.

If you're just now considering a paddleboard, you'll also have to acquire a paddle (That's right, you're whitewater stick just won't cut it). The Carlisle hybrid paddle allows the paddleboarder to convert from a 78-inch stand-up paddle to a 230-centimeter kayak paddle for the seated position.
